What You’ll Learn in This 2-Day Generative AI Course

Every session is hands-on. You’ll work with real tools on practical exercises that map to the course’s learning objectives.

Day 1 | Morning (9 AM – 12 PM) — AI-Assisted Data Extraction & Analytics

Tools: Gemini & Google BigQuery

Connect Gemini to a live BigQuery dataset and use natural-language prompts to query, summarise, and visualise business data — no SQL expertise required. You’ll identify trends, generate insight summaries, and translate findings into stakeholder-ready recommendations.

  • Hands-on exercise: Extract customer and sales data from BigQuery using Gemini prompts, produce a one-page insight summary, and present a data-driven business recommendation.

Day 1 | Afternoon (1 PM – 5 PM) — AI-Assisted UX Design

Tools: Figma Make

Use Figma Make to go from a text brief to a complete, interactive prototype. You’ll prompt the AI to generate layouts, iterate on components, and refine the design for clarity, accessibility, and stakeholder communication — all without writing code.

  • Hands-on exercise: Given a business scenario, generate a multi-screen prototype in Figma Make, incorporate ethical & accessibility considerations, and present the design rationale to peers.

Day 2 | Morning (9 AM – 12 PM) — AI-Assisted Vibe Coding

Tools: Google AI Studio & GitHub Copilot (in VS Code)

Build a working web application by describing what you want in plain English. Google AI Studio and GitHub Copilot generate the code; you guide, review, and refine it — learning how AI accelerates software development and workflow automation without requiring a programming background.

  • Hands-on exercise: Prompt AI Studio / Copilot to scaffold a small business tool (e.g. a dashboard or form app), iterate on features through conversation, and deploy a working prototype.

Day 2 | Afternoon (1 PM – 5 PM) — Capstone Project & Written Assessment

Format: Project presentation + short written submission

Bring together everything from the first three sessions. You’ll design and present an AI-powered project plan aligned to your own professional role — covering business objectives, the AI tools and workflows you would use, ethical considerations, and measurable success metrics.

  • Capstone deliverable: A complete AI-powered project plan that identifies a workplace problem, proposes an AI solution (data, UX, or automation), evaluates business value, and outlines a roadmap for continuous improvement.

The course is a highly hands-on 2-day workshop. You can choose from flexible schedules including weekday or weekend options.

Will I receive a certificate upon completion?

Yes! Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a General Assembly certificate of completion recognising your Generative AI skills.

Is this course eligible for the SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) $4,000 top-up?

The SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) course catalogue is curated to support substantive reskilling. As such, shorter one-day and two-day courses (including SkillsFuture Series courses) are excluded for now, as mid-career workers are likely to require a more substantial injection of skills to stay relevant and progress in their careers.
